Description
Quinoa is rich in fibre, iron, calcium and magnesium and has a high protein content. It is often referred to as a superfood and was a staple food of the Incas who called it the mother of all grains.
The quinoa by SO Fröhlich has had its saponins removed. This process involves polishing the grains which removes the outermost membrane along with the bitter substances it contains. This lends the grain a subtle nutty taste.
Grown in regenerative agriculture in southeast Styria without additional preservatives while fertilisers and pesticides are reduced to a minimum. Short transport routes and environmentally friendly packaging made from organic film and recycled cardboard enable sustainable production.
Preparation: Rinse quinoa with hot water. Drain. Add 2 measures of water to 1 measure of quinoa in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Turn the heat down and simmer for 20 minutes.
Note: Cooked quinoa has a soft and fluffy yet slightly crunchy texture.
